BLS for Healthcare Providers is a CPR training program that teaches the foundations and fundamental aspects of immediate medical care given to patients with life-threatening illnesses and conditions such as stroke, traumatic injuries and cardiac arrest. The main focus of basic life support is to help patients maintain adequate circulation, airway and breathing (CAB). The BLS training program is designed to teach healthcare providers skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), early assessment and recognition of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), foreign-body airway obstruction management and rapid defibrillation with the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).The Heartsaver CPR course is a comprehensive CPR training program designed to teach non-health workers and lay rescuers, skills in basic first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on infants, children and adults, relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) and the proper use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). This training program aims to teach non-health workers on how to effectively recognize and manage cardiovascular emergencies and other urgent medical conditions in various settings, until medical rescuers and professional healthcare respondents arrive.
